1. City Lake in Siloam Springs

Only a half mile from the Rustic Ridge property, City Lake is 165 acres that the city of Siloam Springs completely reimagined. Families can enjoy leisurely strolls along the well-maintained trails that encircle the lake or relax and play at designated picnic areas or the playground. Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy an afternoon on the banks, casting their lines, and the lake is perfect for calm kayaking and paddle boarding. Want to try your hand at frisbee golf? Rent a frisbee golf set and learn the rules of the game from the front office at Rustic Ridge, then head out for an afternoon on the course at City Lake.

2. City Lake Mountain Bike Trails

The City Lake mountain bike trail system is located just down the road from Rustic Ridge. Didn’t bring your own bikes? Not to worry - rent your hybrid or mountain bikes for the day from our local partner, Phat Tire. The system includes three trails totaling 3.2 miles, featuring punchy climbs, flowing singletrack, and enjoyable descents. Riders can incorporate alternate lines for added excitement and, by riding the loop in reverse, experience a completely new 3.2-mile route. On the west side of the property, Simons Descent offers a thrilling ride with a large starting deck, rollers, a step-up, bermed corners, wall rides, and a customizable drop back into the lot. Additionally, riders can venture across Taylor Orchard Rd to the south to access The Enchanted Forest trail, leading to a 505' long elevated canopy boardwalk with stunning watershed views. Continuing on The Enchanted Forest leads to the ADA trail, which leads to a Bicycle Skills Course and a paved pump track.

3. Sager Creek Mountain Bike Trail

Kids of all ages will enjoy the Sager Creek Mountain Bike Trail which starts at the tennis courts of John Brown University. It is a five-mile soft-surface trail along Sager Creek, offering varying elevations around the campus. Designed for riders of different skill levels, it includes the intermediate Blue level South Loop (1.8 miles) with a flow trail and the beginner Green level North Loop (3.3 miles), connected by a 0.8-mile trail. A 1.1-mile Strider trail is dedicated to children learning to mountain bike. Walkers and runners can use the paved Dogwood Springs or JBU Cross Country trails. The Sager Creek Trails are supported by the Walton Family Foundation and Simmons Foods, and aim to foster a broader cycling community in Northwest Arkansas.

4. Dogwood Springs Walking Trail & Bob Henry Park

Starting at John Brown University and James Butts Baseball Park, the Dogwood Springs Walking Trail is a paved trail that winds through the city, leading through manicured, shaded woods along Dogwood Springs, a natural spring that adds a touch of coolness to the trail. The best part of this trail for families is the central section that goes through Bob Henry Park. The area includes a playground, dog park, skate park, picnic tables, and a tennis court. Don’t forget to bring bananas to feed the ducks floating along the creek!

5. River Adventures: WOKA Park & Kayak Park

If your family loves water activities, Siloam Springs has two locations for tubing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, and paddle boarding; both locations are less than 20 minutes away from Rustic Ridge. If you and your family own water equipment, the Siloam Springs Kayak Park is a perfect fit. On the weekends, it only costs $10 per car to park, but get there early - once the parking lot is full, the launch is closed. If you need to rent a kayak, raft, or paddle board, or even if you own your water craft, WOKA Whitewater Park is an excellent place to experience adventures on the Illinois River. Rentals are for 4 hours and cost anywhere from $15-$25 or $75 if you'd like to try various water crafts. Parking is $10 per car and only cards are accepted, no cash. Again, arrive early to ensure a parking spot!

6. Memorial Park and Chautauqua Amphitheater

Memorial Park is a picturesque destination in Siloam Springs offering a variety of attractions. Located near the historic downtown area and the Siloam Springs Library, the park features a farmer's market, an interactive water feature, the KIA Veteran’s Memorial, a meticulously restored gazebo, and expansive green spaces. Notably, Memorial Park was recognized as a finalist for the 2022 Tourism Attraction of the Year award at the 48th Annual Governor's Conference on Tourism.

7. Siloam Springs Museum

Delve into the town's rich history at the Siloam Springs Museum. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day, the aquatic center is a well-maintained respite from the summer heat and humidity. With slides, a wading pool, and swimming lanes, there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy.

10. Annual Seasonal Events

Siloam Springs hosts fun annual events for the whole family to enjoy throughout the year. If you are visiting during the holidays, you might want too check for local fun, such as Trick-or-Treating on Halloween held downtown, or the Holly Jolly Christmas Lights contest, held every year, in which houses throughout the city compete for a prize.
